THE STRATEGIST: How Sainz could have beaten Piastri to P2 in Austria

The result of Austrian race was turned on its head with the collision between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris removing both drivers from what would have been the top two steps of the podium.
Instead George Russell took his second career victory, followed by Oscar Piastri and Carlos Sainz. The Spaniard had started from P4 – three places in front of Piastri on the grid – and was ahead for most of the race until Lap 65 when the McLaren man took the position.
