Crawford set for next FP1 run with Aston Martin in Belgium
Aston Martin’s third driver, Jak Crawford, will make another Free Practice 1 appearance for the team at the Belgian Grand Prix.

Aston Martin have confirmed that their third driver, Jak Crawford, will participate in another Free Practice 1 outing for the squad at the upcoming Belgian Grand Prix.
Crawford has made two FP1 appearances so far in 2026 – having gotten behind the wheel of Fernando Alonso’s car in Japan, before driving in place of Lance Stroll more recently in Austria – while he also experienced two runs for the team in the latter stages of the 2025 season.
For the American’s third session of the season – which will also fulfil Aston Martin’s third rookie practice run of the four that each team is required to complete during the campaign – Alonso will step aside to allow Crawford to drive the AMR26.
The news comes after the 21-year-old appeared at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where he completed the famous hillclimb onboard the outfit’s 2025 machine, the AMR25.
Crawford has also taken part in testing for Aston Martin, which included a recent Pirelli tyre test in Barcelona during June.
Prior to taking on his third driver role at the squad, Crawford ended the 2025 Formula 2 championship in second place, having collected four wins and eight podiums while racing for DAMS Lucas Oil.
