WATCH: The moment Hamilton and Verstappen finally went wheel-to-wheel again
It might not have been for the lead of the race, but watching Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton go side by side once again still provided a thrill for the packed crowd at the Canadian Grand Prix, who gasped with delight when the Red Bull man come out of the pits alongside his former rival.
Hamilton’s tyres were up to temperature and he was able to squeeze past his former foe, as Verstappen put in a frustrated radio message back to his crew.

“Why didn’t you make sure I ****ing ended up in front?!” demanded Verstappen.
But having been told they just didn’t have the pace to get out in front of a surprisingly competitive Mercedes in Canada, Verstappen was forced to pull off a move on track, which he did as he set about a brilliant drive to victory in Montreal.
