WATCH: Ride onboard with Norris for his Sprint Qualifying pole position lap in Miami
McLaren returned to the top of the times during Sprint Qualifying in Miami thanks to Lando Norris’ pole position lap.
Lando Norris produced a stunning lap to claim pole position during Sprint Qualifying at the Miami International Autodrome – ending Mercedes’ dominant start to the season.
After showing promise in SQ1 and SQ2, McLaren driver Norris got down to a time of 1m 27.869s on his SQ3 run to beat Mercedes rival and championship leader Kimi Antonelli by just over two-tenths of a second.
It marked the first non-Mercedes pole of the 2026 campaign, after the Silver Arrows led the way in Australia, China and Japan, with McLaren among several teams to bring sizeable update packages to Florida.
