WATCH: Relive Norris' maiden pole position lap in Monaco as he denies Leclerc

Lando Norris claimed his first pole position for the Monaco Grand Prix, the McLaren driver besting home hero Charles Leclerc at the last moment.

The Briton posted a 1m 09.954s with his final effort – the first lap in Monaco history that was under 70 seconds – which left him 0.109s clear of Leclerc to deny the Ferrari driver, who had topped all three practice sessions in the build-up to Qualifying and was sat in provisional pole.

Pole in Monaco is the first for Norris since the season-opening Australian Grand Prix, the venue of his only victory in the 2025 campaign so far.

Norris will have to contend with a mandated two-stop race on Sunday at a venue where he has taken a best finish of third in 2021.
