In 2008 Lewis Hamilton could have been forgiven for still dwelling on the fact that he had missed out on the championship the previous year – his debut season – by just a single point.
And when he arrived at Silverstone for the '08 British Grand Prix, he was only fourth in the title standings. But then the heavens opened, and Hamilton came into his own, racing to a dominant home victory while his title rival Felipe Massa could barely keep his Ferrari on the road.
