WATCH: Daniel Ricciardo’s FP2 ends in the barriers after crash at the Swimming Pool complex
2018 Monaco Grand Prix winner Daniel Ricciardo couldn’t wait to get stuck into the Monte Carlo weekend on Friday morning. But despite going P7 in Free Practice 1, Ricciardo’s FP2 lasted just a quarter of an hour before he hit the barriers in his McLaren.
On his first flying lap, Ricciardo lost the back end going through Monaco’s super-fast Swimming Pool complex, spearing left into the guard rail before sliding down the track and coming to a stop buried in the Tecpro barriers – the front-left wheel wiped off the car, and a long night facing the McLaren mechanics.
