The weather behaved in Japan, with three days of non-stop action at Suzuka. Max Verstappen emerged victorious for Red Bull to see his team clinch their sixth constructors’ title, but while he was congratulated on the radio, the airwaves weren’t only filled with positive emotions…
Pierre Gasly and Logan Sargeant both came a cropper at the final corner, leading to apologies on the radio. Valtteri Bottas also found himself wandering around off track – but he was left rather more confused by how he got there.
Sergio Perez had a race to forget after two separate incidents, while Alex Albon was doing the best with what he had after being sent skywards on the opening lap.
Carlos Sainz questioned his team’s strategy, George Russell did likewise after some intra-team fighting with Lewis Hamilton while, down at McLaren, things were sounding an awful lot calmer.
