Perez to finally get Racing Point upgrade package for Eifel GP

Sergio Perez will at last have the best package Racing Point has to offer at this weekend’s Eifel Grand Prix at the Nurburgring, with his team having had enough time to produce two sets of their recent upgrade.
His team mate Lance Stroll first ran the sizeable update, which included new sidepods and brake ducts, at Mugello – but crashed heavily when in the hunt for a podium, causing significant damage that required a new chassis.

Perez was expecting to get the update in Russia, but because there was only enough time to produce one set, the one he was scheduled to receive was allocated to Stroll, as the Canadian was ahead in the drivers’ championship.
Frustratingly for Racing Point, they were unable to gather data on the package in Russia after Stroll was pitched into the barriers by Charles Leclerc on the first lap – so it’s a big boost that both cars will have the new package in Germany.
Stroll will be targeting a clean weekend after two successive DNFs, while Perez might fancy his chances of a podium after finishing fifth and fourth respectively in the last two races with the older package.
