PADDOCK PASS: The drivers report back after a thrilling qualifying at Spa-Francorchamps
Qualifying day at Spa-Francorchamps is always a special occasion, and so it proved again in 2020, with Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton coming out on top as the drivers got stuck into the 7.004km gem of a circuit in the Ardennes.
Hamilton set not one but two new track records in Q3, dedicating his eventual pole lap of 1m 41.252s to the actor Chadwick Boseman, who passed away on Friday night. But with both Ferraris failing to make Q3 for the first time since the 2014 British Grand Prix, and some intra-team squabbling over slipstreams, there was plenty to talk about on Saturday evening in Belgium.
Let Will Buxton guide you through all the driver reaction from qualifying for the 2020 Belgian Grand Prix in the video above – or tune into the podcast version of Paddock Pass on Spotify.
