Everything is set for a thrilling showdown in Singapore, with Mercedes’ George Russell and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen heading the grid for the Marina Bay night race.
Both out-qualified chief title contenders Oscar Piastri – third – and Lando Norris – fifth – whose McLaren team could wrap up the Teams’ Championship here.
Splitting the papaya cars is the second Mercedes of rookie Kimi Antonelli in fourth, while Lewis Hamilton is the lead Ferrari in sixth, immediately ahead of team mate Charles Leclerc.
Isack Hadjar and Oliver Bearman qualified an excellent eighth and ninth for Racing Bulls and Haas respectively, with Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso completing the top 10.
At the back of the order, meanwhile, Williams’ Carlos Sainz will fill the final grid spot after he and Williams team mate Alex Albon were disqualified from Qualifying for non-compliant rear wings.
Albon will start from the pit lane after set-up changes on his car, as will Alpine's Pierre Gasly. The Frenchman qualified 18th, but the team have changed the floor on his A525 to one of a different specification.
