MUST-SEE: Colapinto suffers massive crash in Las Vegas qualifying
Franco Colapinto suffered a disastrous end to the second part of qualifying for the Las Vegas Grand Prix when he dramatically hit the wall – causing significant damage to his Williams machine.
While team mate Alex Albon got eliminated in Q1, the Argentinian made it through to Q2 and was aiming for the top-10 shootout when he struck the inside wall at Turn 16 and slammed into the barrier on the other side of the track.

Colapinto reported over the radio that he was “okay” before climbing out of the car, but a significant amount of debris had been scattered across the track. As a result, Q3 was delayed to clear the surface, reinstate a safety concrete block, and recover the Williams.
After qualifying, a Williams team statement read: “Franco sustained a significant impact of over 50G, requiring a medical check up. An impact of this magnitude is obviously significant and severe and he will need to be evaluated again tomorrow before we will know whether he is clear to race.”
It added: “Franco’s health is all that matters and we are glad he is otherwise okay. We will provide further updates when we can.”
