Mexico Facts and Stats: Hamilton emulates a Schumacher record

There was no third successive title-clinching moment for Lewis Hamilton in Mexico – but he did seal a second career win at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. Here are the other notable stats of the day…
-
Hamilton’s victory gave Mercedes their 100th GP win as a constructor, while the Briton took his 100th podium finish for the Silver Arrows. Michael Schumacher is the only other driver to score 100 podiums with a single team before, in his case Ferrari
-
Hamilton is the first driver to win from third on the grid in Mexico since Jacky Ickx did so in 1970. He now has 83 career wins, 10 of which have come this season
-
For the fifth time this season, Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel finished second. He now has as many podium finishes in 2019 as team mate Charles Leclerc, who has now missed the rostrum in two straight races
-
Hamilton and Vettel finished one-two for the 55th time, extending an all-time F1 record. The next highest pairing is Hamilton and Nico Rosberg, who were one-two 45 times.

-
Valtteri Bottas not only kept the title race alive by a slim margin, he also claimed a 44th career podium finish, surpassing three-time world champion Jackie Stewart’s tally.
-
Alex Albon continued his record of finishing in the top six in every race he has started for Red Bull, the run now stretching to six Grands Prix.
-
Max Verstappen could not complete a Mexican hat-trick, instead finishing in P6 – his worst finish in Mexico since 2015 when he was ninth. He has finished in the points in all five Mexican races he’s started, however…
-
Home favourite Sergio Perez tied his best-ever finish on home soil with P7
-
For the first time in three years, Ricciardo reached the chequered flag in Mexico, finishing in P8.
-
Having been disqualified from the results in Japan, where they had finished with both cars in the points, Renault completed the feat in Mexico with Nico Hulkenberg classified P10 following a last-lap clash with Daniil Kvyat.
