HIGHLIGHTS: Watch the FP1 action from Zandvoort as Norris narrowly leads rival Verstappen
Lando Norris topped the timesheets in the opening practice session in Zandvoort, leading the way from Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton as tricky weather conditions made for an hour of two contrasting halves on track.
The few drivers who ventured out early bolted on wet tyres to explore the gusty track, but no timed efforts were made until Charles Leclerc set an initial benchmark of 1m 26.530s.

As the weather conditions gradually began to look more promising, crowd favourite Verstappen was on course to set the fastest lap of the session with his first effort, but clipped the kerb at Turn 12 and spun.
Elsewhere, Ferrari reserve driver Robert Shwartzman took the place of Valtteri Bottas for the session, making the most of the outing as he briefly set the quickest time in Sector 1 and leapt up to P3 with a quarter of the session remaining.
Towards the end of the session, the sun came out and the times tumbled as all 20 drivers battled for space around the track to set their final push laps.
