F1 returned to action for the only practice session of the weekend at Shanghai International Circuit on Friday.
George Russell topped the timesheets for Mercedes in the only practice session of the Chinese Grand Prix weekend.
The early Championship leader posted a best time of 1m 32.741s, with team mate Kimi Antonelli just over a tenth behind to make it a 1-2 for the Silver Arrows. The two McLarens followed, Lando Norris ahead of Oscar Piastri, over the Ferrari pair of Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton.
Ollie Bearman was an impressive seventh for Haas, as Max Verstappen, Nico Hulkenberg, and Pierre Gasly completed the top 10.
Rookie Arvid Lindblad managed just six laps in his Racing Bulls machine before stopping on track with an issue, while Carlos Sainz was delayed in taking to the track with a data issue on his Williams.
