HIGHLIGHTS: Watch all the action as Bottas takes victory in the Russian GP
It was the day when Lewis Hamilton could have equalled Michael Schumacher's Formula 1 wins record, but in the end it was the six time world champion's Mercedes team mate Valtteri Bottas who triumphed at Sochi.
Starting from pole, Hamilton held off the fast starting Bottas behind him at the race start and through the drama-filled first lap that saw Carlos Sainz and Lance Stroll crash out in seperate incidents.

But two pre-race practice starts proved to be the undoing for Hamilton as he was handed two five second penalties for doing them in the wrong place on the track, and after serving his time penalties at his first pit stop he was out of the running for victory, eventually coming home third behind Max Verstappen.
