After last week's Portuguese Grand Prix the Formula 1 circus immediately decamped to Barcelona for this weekend's race in Spain, for part two of the first double header of the season.
The drivers got out on track on Friday morning for the first practice session in Barcelona, and it was Valtteri Bottas who was quickest out of the blocks, setting the fastest time ahead of Red Bull's Max Verstappen, and Lewis Hamilton.

It wasn't an entirely trouble free session, with a pause early on after Haas' Nikita Mazepin went off track before engaging reverse and managing to rejoin the circuit, and a red flag with 15 minutes left after Robert Kubica – driving for AlfaTauri in place of Kimi Raikkonen in this session – lost control at the newly remodelled Turn 10 and ended up in the gravel trap.
