HIGHLIGHTS: All the key moments from qualifying as Hamilton beats the Red Bulls to pole
Mercedes looked like they came into this new F1 season on the back foot after a difficult time in pre-season testing back in March, but so far they have won one race, and taken pole for the other.
And it was Lewis Hamilton who followed up his victory in Bahrain last time out with pole position for this weekend's Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola, despite fierce competition from the Red Bulls of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez.
Elsewhere there was heartbreak for Lando Norris, who looked to have put in the lap of his life in Q3 to go second fastest, only to see his time deleted for a track limits infringement; while Yuki Tsunoda's session didn't last any longer than his first flying lap, after he crashed heavily at the Variante Alta chicane in Q1.
Hit play in the video above to watch all the key moments from a super-tight qualifying battle at one of the all-time classic Grand Prix tracks.
