F3: Theophile Nael dominates in Barcelona to earn maiden victory
Théophile Nael earned his first victory in FIA Formula 3 with a dominant lights-to-flag victory.

Theophile Nael earned his first victory in FIA Formula 3 with a dominant lights-to-flag victory in the Barcelona Feature Race.
Starting on pole, the Campos Racing driver maintained his lead but had to resist pressure from Van Amersfoort Racing’s Hiyu Yamakoshi early on.
Once the race settled down, Nael would pull away from the field, before crossing the line to take the win ahead of Yamakoshi – who achieved his first F3 podium in second.
It was a one-three for Campos at their home race, as Ugo Ugochukwu recovered from a slow start to finish on the podium.
Rodin Motorsport’s Brando Badoer continued his good form to finish fourth ahead of VAR duo Enzo Deligny and Bruno del Pino.
Red Bull Junior Ernesto Rivera made it three Campos cars in the points with a run to seventh, gaining a position at the line following TRIDENT’s Freddie Slater’s five-second time penalty for leaving the track and gaining an advantage at the start.
The Briton wound up in P8 ahead of ART Grand Prix pairing Taito Kato and Maciej Gladysz.
That wraps up the action from Barcelona, but you can read a full report from today’s FIA Formula 2 Feature Race on the official website here.
