F2: Beganovic beats red flag to claim first pole position at Imola

Dino Beganovic earned his maiden pole position in Formula 2 during Qualifying at Imola, setting a 1m 27.418s to take top spot for Hitech TGR.
The Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy talent set his final effort with just over five minutes to go and moments before the red flags ended the session early.

DAMS Lucas Oil’s Kush Maini brought the Qualifying session to a premature close after hitting the barriers on the exit of Turn 4.
It meant Beganovic’s time remained the fastest, beating Sebastián Montoya to pole – just 0.003s clear of the PREMA Racing driver.
ART Grand Prix’s Victor Martins narrowly missed out on pole once again this season, having finished second in the first three sessions in 2025. This time he finished third in the order, 0.006s down on the polesitter.
Leonardo Fornaroli finished fourth for Invicta Racing, ahead of Alexander Dunne of Rodin Motorsport in P5.
Arvid Lindblad, Luke Browning and Oliver Goethe followed, from Jak Crawford and Ritomo Miyata, after Maini’s fastest time was deleted for being the sole cause of the red flag having originally finished ninth.
Championship leader Richard Verschoor is set to start both the Sprint and Feature Races from 19th on the grid after missing out on the top 10.
