There are only six seats left on the Formula 1 grid for 2026 – and one of those is at Alpine, alongside Pierre Gasly, who last month further extended his contract with the French outfit until at least 2028. Since Renault rebranded their Formula 1 team Alpine in 2021, the French squad have never finished outside the top-six in the Teams' Championship. But continuing that run this year will be tricky.
The team sit bottom with 20 points, having failed to score in the last five race weekends, and they trail P6 by 52 with just six events – albeit including three Sprints – still to go.
