BEYOND THE GRID LEGENDS: Rubens Barrichello on following Senna, racing against Schumacher and his advice for Bortoleto

Rubens Barrichello is one of the most experienced drivers in F1 history, making more than 300 Grand Prix starts and winning 11 races with Ferrari and Brawn GP – giving him plenty to talk about on the latest Beyond The Grid LEGENDS podcast.
During a lengthy career in the top echelon, the Brazilian had to cope with the passing of his legendary countryman, Ayrton Senna, as well as carrying the country’s hopes from that point onwards.
Then, having impressed with the Jordan and Stewart teams, Barrichello went up against a dominant Michael Schumacher at Ferrari – but while he never won a championship crown, he proved he could match his world-beating team mate on his day.
Speaking to host Tom Clarkson, Barrichello reflects on some of the highs and lows of his time at Ferrari and across his F1 career as a whole, the long shadow cast by Senna’s death, and the pressure and pride he felt racing for Brazil’s passionate F1 fans.
There’s also time to talk about the latest Brazilian F1 driver in Gabriel Bortoleto, who will be stepping up from F2 to represent Kick Sauber – ahead of their rebranding to Audi’s works team – during the 2025 season.
