On the weekend where he was crowned a three-time world champion Max Verstappen took yet another dominant victory at this weekend’s Qatar Grand Prix, leading home the McLarens of Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris.
Starting on pole, Verstappen kept a hold of the lead, before driving away from the rest of his competition to take his 14th win of the season. Piastri recovered from sixth to finish second, ahead of Norris – who came from 10th to third.
George Russell was fourth for Mercedes having lost out at the start thanks to a collision with his team mate, Lewis Hamilton, at Turn 1. Russell was able to battle back through the field while Hamilton’s race ending in the gravel.
Charles Leclerc was fifth for Ferrari, ahead of the Aston Martin of Fernando Alonso, the Alpine of Esteban Ocon, and the Alfa Romeo of Valtteri Bottas.
Zhou Guanyu was promoted to ninth, thanks to five-second penalties for Sergio Perez, Lance Stroll, and Pierre Gasly for exceeding track limits on multiple occasions – with Perez ending up 10th.
