Mercedes looked super quick in first practice for the US Grand Prix on Friday, with Valtteri Bottas setting a time almost a full second quicker than Max Verstappen. But Red Bull hit back after that with Sergio Perez topping both FP2 and FP3. It was all set up then, for a fascinating battle in qualifying.

And that's exactly what we got, with the advantage swinging one way and then the other right up until the final moments of Q3, when Hamilton crossed the line to take provisional pole before Verstappen snatched it away just seconds later.
