HIGHLIGHTS: Watch all the action as Hamilton survives late drama to win British GP
Mercedes have once again produced a car that is the class of the field in the W11, and in the build up to Sunday's British Grand Prix it looked perfectly suited to the super-fast Silverstone circuit.
A routine 1-2 victory looked more and more likely then as Lewis Hamilton led Valtteri Bottas from the start of the race, with Mac Verstappen some way behind in third.
But then on the penultimate lap, Bottas' front left tyre spectacularly let go, forcing the Finn to limp back to the pits. Unbelieveably, Hamilton suffered the exact same problem just moments later – but too late for a pitstop of his own.
The six-time champ was forced to try to drag his ailing and sparking car to the finish line, as Verstappen – shod on fresh rubber following a late stop of his own – hunted him down. Watch the highlights to see the stunning end to this race in the video above...
