HIGHLIGHTS: Relive the action from the first practice session at the Hungarian Grand Prix
Carlos Sainz made a fine start to his Hungarian Grand Prix weekend, with the Ferrari driver topping the timesheets in the first practice session at the Hungaroring.
Sainz set a time of 1m 18.750s on the soft tyre, to lead the Red Bull of Max Verstappen, in second, by 0.130s. Charles Leclerc, in the other Ferrari, rounded out the top three by setting a time that was 0.289s behind his team mate.
It was a good start to the weekend for McLaren, with Lando Norris up in fourth, while Daniel Ricciardo finished in eighth. Sandwiched between them were the Mercedes of George Russell and Lewis Hamilton, in fifth and seventh respectively, with Sergio Perez in sixth. Rounding out the top 10 was the Alpine duo of Esteban Ocon and Fernando Alonso, in ninth and 10th.
