Max Verstappen put in a dominant performance, during a rain-hampered race in Monaco, as he sealed his second win in the Principality ahead of Aston Martin rival Fernando Alonso.
As well as securing his fourth victory of the season, his Monte Carlo triumph extended his lead at the top of the drivers’ championship to 39 points.
Starting from pole, Verstappen made a perfect start as he led the race and built a solid gap to Alonso in second before the rain came down.

However, Verstappen and his Red Bull team handled the change in weather conditions well, despite the Dutch driver hitting the barrier on occasion, as he pulled away from Alonso at the end to win by over 27 seconds.
Alonso wound up second for Aston Martin, ahead of his former Alpine team mate Esteban Ocon, in third, with Lewis Hamilton and George Russell finishing fourth and fifth, respectively, for Mercedes.
Home favourite Charles Leclerc finished sixth, ahead of the Alpine of Pierre Gasly and his Ferrari team mate Carlos Sainz in eighth, with the McLaren pair of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri rounding out the top 10.
